Modern Slavery Statement
Our position on modern slavery and human trafficking within our business and our supply chain.
Our commitment
House of Properties does not tolerate modern slavery, forced or compulsory labour, or human trafficking in any part of our business or supply chain. This statement sets out the steps we take to identify and prevent it, in line with the principles of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Our business
We are an independent estate and letting agency based in Uxbridge, providing sales, lettings and property management services. As a professional services business our direct risk of modern slavery is low, but we recognise that risk can arise through the contractors and suppliers we instruct, and within the rental sector itself.
Our people and suppliers
We verify the right to work of everyone we employ and pay at or above statutory minimum rates. We expect the contractors and suppliers we instruct, such as maintenance, cleaning and refurbishment trades, to meet the same standards. Where we have reason to believe a supplier is not meeting them, we will investigate and, where necessary, stop using that supplier.
Awareness in property
Our team is alert to the signs of exploitation that can arise in the property sector, including overcrowded or unsafe occupation, unlawful subletting, and situations where a tenant appears controlled or unable to speak freely. Concerns identified during inspections, viewings or management visits are escalated and reported to the appropriate authorities where warranted.
Reporting a concern
If you have a concern relating to our business, one of our suppliers, or a property we manage, contact us directly. Every report is taken seriously and treated confidentially.
Concerns can also be raised with the Modern Slavery Helpline on 08000 121 700 or through the Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority.

This statement is reviewed annually and updated as our business and responsibilities develop.
